Springfest is back in the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center parking lot this weekend. Rides, food, live music, and a beer garden all packed into one spot. Itโs the kind of thing you walk into for a bit and end up staying longer once it fills in.
๐น Opening Night Thursday runs 5PM - 11PM with shorter lines and cooler weather
๐น All-You-Can-Ride wristbands beat single tickets if you've got kids who want to keep going
๐น Saturday and Sunday open at 11am for daytime carnival energy without the crowds

Local pop-up fair with a full Hawaiian-style food lineup and a mix of vendors set up around the lot. Itโs more of a walk-through, grab a few things, and hang for a bit kind of stop, especially if youโre already down by the Pier or Riviera.

The city's first community tree planting event, and it's a real one. Mayor Lesser opens the morning, then student Tree Ambassadors from every Manhattan Beach Unified school plus American Martyrs put eight California-native western sycamores into the ground along Veterans Parkway. The city provides all the supplies. Bring water and closed-toe shoes.

White Point out in San Pedro is doing its outdoor day on Saturday, with a volunteer morning and a guided walk along the bluff. You can either spend a couple hours helping out or just show up for the walk and take in the views.

๐ Bunka-Sai Japanese Cultural Festival

Bunka-Sai is back in Torrance this weekend, and itโs one of the more established cultural festivals down here. Two full days of performances, food, and hands-on demos, with everything set up around the rec center.

The 502-seat theatre on Pier Avenue hosts a youth production of Disney's Frozen Jr., the stage version of the film with all the songs you already know by heart. Three showtimes across two days, so you can pick the one that fits the nap schedule. Fourteen bucks a ticket is a hard deal to beat for live theatre walking distance from the Pier.

Feels like one of those weekends where you go out for one thing and end up staying out a little longer than you planned. Not a bad one to keep it local.
