🥇 A South Bay Moment to Watch This Week

Quick local pride check 👀 The 2026 Winter Olympics kick off this Thursday in Milan Cortina, and a few familiar South Bay names will be competing on the world’s biggest stage.

Redondo Beach’s Madison Chock is headed to her fourth Olympics in ice dance with Evan Bates and is very much in medal contention. Torrance’s Chloe Kim is back in the halfpipe February 11–12, chasing a historic third straight Olympic gold, with Bea Kim also representing Team USA.

Opening Ceremony streams Thursday at 11am PT. Not a South Bay event, but definitely a South Bay moment. 🇺🇸

There is currently a nationwide blood shortage, and local hospitals are asking community members to step up if they are able. This long running Hermosa Beach blood drive supports Cedars Sinai and has helped save countless lives over the years. A simple donation can make a real impact right here in the South Bay.
