Memorial Day Weekend in the South Bay
What's happening around the South Bay, May 22–25
Happy Thursday South Bay,
Fiesta Hermosa is back this weekend, and if you have been around the South Bay long enough, you already know the drill. Three days of Pier Ave full of music, four stages running at once, downtown Hermosa buzzing from morning to night, and a Sunday night Silent Disco on the beach to top it off.
Outside of Hermosa, there is plenty more going on: Fleet Week along the San Pedro waterfront, a Saturday night house set on the Redondo Pier, the Antique Street Faire in Old Torrance, and the Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Park on Monday.

Memorial Day Weekend in the South Bay pretty much belongs to Fiesta Hermosa. Three days of live music, food stands, beach crowds, carnival rides, and packed streets around the pier. If you grew up down here, you already know the move: park far away, walk in, grab something cold, and spend the afternoon bouncing between stages and vendors.
🔹 Four live music stages spread throughout downtown Hermosa
🔹 Over 200 local makers, artists, and food vendors
🔹 The Garden returns with live bands, drinks, and a 21+ crowd near the pier
🎶 Tomorrow's Bad Seeds
📍 Deep End Live, 100 Fisherman's Wharf, Redondo Beach
🕒 Friday, May 22 | Doors 7:00 PM, Show 8:00 PM
💰 Ticketed | 21+
If you want the Redondo Pier to feel like summer already, this is probably the move. Tomorrow's Bad Seeds bring reggae, rock, and hip-hop together in a way that fits perfectly with a warm night on the waterfront.
🔹 Intimate concert setup right on the pier
🔹 Easy walk to harbor bars and late-night food spots afterward
🔹 Strong local following and high-energy live crowd
🎬 Cinderella
📍 Old Town Music Hall, 140 Richmond St, El Segundo
🕒 Saturday, May 23 | Afternoon screening
💰 Ticketed
Old Town Music Hall doing a classic Disney screening on Memorial Day Weekend feels very El Segundo in the best way. Cinderella plays on the big screen alongside live music from the theater’s historic Mighty Wurlitzer before the movie starts.
🔹 Historic movie palace atmosphere from the 1920s
🔹 Live organ performance before the screening
🔹 Easy family-friendly afternoon near downtown El Segundo
🎭 Enchanted Everlasting
📍 Norris Theatre, 27570 Norris Center Drive, Rolling Hills Estates
🕒 Friday, May 22 | 7:30 PM
💰 Ticketed
The PVPA youth performing groups take over Norris Theatre with a full Disney tribute show featuring live singing, dancing, and music from classic films, Broadway productions, and TV favorites. It is one of those Peninsula community shows where you can feel how much work the kids put into it.
🔹 Performers range from ages 9 to 18
🔹 Songs from Disney movies, Broadway, and television
🔹 One-night-only performance at the Norris Theatre
🎶 LA Fleet Week Music Festival
📍 250 S. Harbor Blvd, San Pedro
🕒 Saturday, May 23 | 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Fleet Week always brings a different energy to the harbor, and this waterfront concert adds to it in the best way. Identity Theft and Yachty by Nature headline an afternoon right along the water with ships, crowds, and Memorial Day Weekend traffic all around the port.
🔹 Waterfront live music setup in the middle of Fleet Week
🔹 Identity Theft and Yachty by Nature performing live
🔹 Easy add-on if you're already heading to San Pedro for the weekend
🎧 Mark Farina
📍 Deep End Live, 100 Fisherman's Wharf, Redondo Beach
🕒 Saturday, May 23 | Doors 7:00 PM, Show 8:00 PM
💰 Ticketed | 21+
House music on the pier feels like a pretty good way to spend a Saturday night. Mark Farina brings one of the stronger electronic bookings Redondo has seen in a while, with deep grooves and a crowd that will probably stay moving all night.
🔹 House and downtempo set from a longtime electronic favorite
🔹 Small-capacity venue inside the Redondo Pier
🔹 Good excuse to stay local instead of driving into LA
🎧 Sunset Vibes Silent Disco
📍 Southside of the Hermosa Beach Pier, on the Beach, Hermosa Beach
🕒 Sunday, May 24 | 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
💰 Ticketed | All ages
The Hermosa silent disco setup is back on the sand Sunday night, and honestly, it is one of the funnier things to walk past if you have never seen it before. Hundreds of people dancing on the beach with glowing headphones on while three different DJs battle for your attention at the same time.
🔹 Three DJs spinning different genres simultaneously
🔹 Color-coded headphones light up based on your channel
🔹 Sunset beach setup directly next to the Hermosa Pier
🇺🇸 Torrance Antique Street Faire Memorial Day Edition
📍 Old Torrance, Torrance
🕒 Sunday, May 24 | Morning through Afternoon
💰 Free
Old Torrance always feels a little slower in the best way, and the Antique Street Faire fits perfectly there. Expect rows of vintage clothes, old records, collectibles, random finds, and coffee shops packed with people walking around before brunch.
🔹 Hundreds of antique and vintage vendors
🔹 Walkable setup through historic Old Torrance streets
🔹 Strong morning crowd before the holiday weekend beach rush starts
🇺🇸 Redondo Beach Memorial Day Ceremony
📍 Veterans Park, 309 Esplanade, Redondo Beach
🕒 Monday, May 25 | 1:00 PM
💰 Free
One of the more meaningful gatherings of the weekend happens overlooking the water at Veterans Park. The annual ceremony honors service members with military music, speakers, and a community crowd that shows up every year.
🔹 Oceanfront ceremony next to the Redondo Pier
🔹 Live military band performance
🔹 Community gathering honoring veterans and service members
🎶 Miyoshi + Ayers Live in Manhattan Beach
📍 Coast Music, 2417 N Sepulveda Blvd, Manhattan Beach
🕒 Saturday, May 23 | 7:00 PM
💰 Ticketed
A smaller local music night tucked inside Coast Music in Manhattan Beach. Aki Miyoshi and Ryan Ayers bring an intimate live setup that feels more like a neighborhood gathering than a traditional concert.
🔹 BYOB setup inside a local music shop space
🔹 Limited-capacity live performance
🔹 Good low-key option away from the bigger Memorial Day crowds

That's it for this week,
A three day weekend with Fiesta Hermosa, Fleet Week, pier concerts, and beach traffic everywhere feels very South Bay. If you are staying local this weekend, there is honestly no shortage of things to do.
If you know someone who always asks “what’s happening this weekend?” send this their way.
See you out there,
Jaime
